About Brunei Darussalam

Brunei is a wealthy nation, rich in natural gas and petroleum.  It’s monarchy has been run by the same family for six generations and provides free health care and education to citizens.  Government and religion intermingle, with an Islamic tradition dating back to the 15th century established within the nation.  Sixty-five percent of Brunei nationals identify as Muslim, with 11% of the nation identifying as Christian.  It is illegal to proselytize and Muslims are forbidden to convert from Islam to another religion, making Christian witness and evangelism difficult.

Problems to be solved

• Pray for the reigning monarchy to be saved and lead the nation in righteousness.
• Pray for biblical training and resources for Christians.
• Pray for strength and unity within the Church.  Pray that Christians would boldly and creatively share Jesus with the Muslim majority.

Signs of hope

Malaysian churches on the border witness boldly to those in neighbouring Brunei towns.  Pray for an increase in the number of Bruneians encountering Christ as visit Malaysia.
