COONABARABRAN

About:  Coonabarabran is a town in Warrumbungle Shire that sits on the divide between the Central West and North West Slopes regions of New South Wales, Australia and has a population of 3,174. In 1859 Lewis Gordon first proposed a town plan survey for Coonabaraban.

Prayer Points:

  1. That in the passing of the Baton to each town and region, there would be a transfer of Holy Spirit power that overrides all other powers and that enables a greater measure of release of God’s mercy, blessing and His desires and purposes for that town or region
  2. Our overarching prayer is for revival and transformation, a mighty awakening city by city, town by town across Australia and for multitudes of our fellow citizens to encounter Christ.
  3. That there would be a strengthening of individual churches as well as greater unity between the churches and that pastors, leadership teams and people would hear the Lord’s heart for each community.

 

GUNNEDAH

About: Gunnedah is a town in north-eastern New South Wales, Australia. Gunnedah has a population of 12,805. The Gunnedah area is a significant producer of cotton, coal, beef, lamb and pork, and cereal and oilseed grains. Gunnedah is also home to AgQuip, Australia’s largest annual agricultural field day. It claims the title “Koala Capital of World”. It was established in 1856.

Prayer Points:

  1. Pray for rain, in the natural and the supernatural.
  2. Pray for the Youth and children – for a greater Christian presence amongst teachers in schools and for funding for chaplaincy to be made available going forward. Pray for the Church run youth meetings – that many young people would be reached through these and find a place and their identity in Christ.
  3. Pray for the work of the Scripture Union in Gunnedah. They are working to reach the youth through camps and are bringing unity within the body as volunteers from different denominations lend a hand.
  4. Pray that in the passing of the Baton through Gunnedah, there would be a transfer of Holy Spirit power that overrides all other powers and that enables a greater measure of release of God’s mercy, blessing and His desires and purposes for that town or region

TAMWORTH

About: Tamworth is a town in the New England region of New South Wales, Australia. The town is located almost midway between Brisbane and Sydney, the two largest cities on the Australian east coast. The town had an population of approximately 59,663. The town is known as the “First town of Lights”, being the first place in Australia to use electric street lights in 1888. Tamworth is also famous as the “Country Music Capital of Australia”, annually hosting the Tamworth Country Music Festival in late January; the second biggest country music festival in the world. In 1850 Tamworth was established.

Prayer Points:

  1. Give thanks that there was a Christian presence during the Country Music Festival.
  2. Pray that the Christian community in Tamworth has a powerful impact seeking and saving the lost.
  3. That the Christian community continues to find favour with the Tamworth Regional Council  (e.g. having the Scripture Union tent at the festival, running community church services such as on Australia Day)
  4. That God would open doors to further opportunities for Scripture in High Schools.
  5. That in the passing of the Baton through Tamworth, there would be a transfer of Holy Spirit power that overrides all other powers and that enables a greater measure of release of God’s mercy, blessing and His desires and purposes for that town or region
